Independent music is a very broad term covering a variety of genres and a huge range of artists. The proof in support of this thesis is presented triple, 30-track compilation, containing remixes of songs new wave, representing the sound with Manchester, which Madchester, electronic indie rock or pop rock on the border of alternatives. Royksopp remix, among others, The Fluke or Justice. Two new three-CD remix collections will hit the market next month, courtesy of Rhino, and the one called 12-Inch Dance: Indie really caught our eye. There does appear to be some genuine rarities here, including Ian Levine’s remix of the Pet Shop Boys‘ Paninaro which was the B-side to an Italy-only single in 1986.
