The re-rub keeps the sample to a minimum but maxes out the heaviness and sounds like its natural home would have been at Twilo in its heyday being played by Danny Tenaglia. Now we all like a pun so its a pleasure to have such a fine one on the label. New York Steak of Mind lives up to its damn fine name and is a deep as your feet slice of tech-house with an analogue sensibility. With an eye on the future and the past its got bass and pads that belong to Detroit, samples that belong to NYC and drums that belong to Chicago but all held together with 2014 production.
