Its been a long time coming, but deadmau5 has finally announced his new album, W:/2016ALBUM. Pronounced ‘W Drive 2016 Album,’ the title serves as a reference to Zimmerman’s file directory on his computer, keeping in line with his tradition of tech-oriented album names. Zimmermans forthcoming eighth studio LP is due for release on December 2, and marks the Canadian producer’s first-ever independently released album, arriving on his own mau5trap imprint. The album follows while, deadmau5s seventh studio album which was released in June of 2014. While Zimmerman has previously expressed his disdain for his new work, the idea of new material from Zimmerman in less than a month is a tantalizing prospect.
