Closer to Heaven is a musical by Jonathan Harvey and Pet Shop Boys. It was premiered in May at the Arts Theatre in London, opening to mixed reviews. Se a vida E is a Pet Shop Boys song that was released as a single on August, and reached number eight in the Singles Chart. The single was one of the most widely played records on UK radio and its video set in a water park was shown on both MTV and VH1 on a regular basis that summer. Unperturbed by the low chart position, the band returned to the studio in August to re-record West End Girls with producer Stephen Hague. Released in October, this new version initially entered the charts at a similarly low position. London is a single by the Pet Shop Boys released as the third single from their album Release. It was released exclusively in Europe and as a promotional-only in the UK.
