Though much early rock & roll was based in the blues, Blues-Rock didnt fully develop into a subgenre until the late-60s. Blues-rock emphasized two specific things the traditional, three-chord blues song and instrumental improvisation. Great Balls of Fire is a popular song recorded by Jerry Lee Lewis on Sun Records and featured movie Jamboree. It was written by Otis Blackwell and Jack Hammer. Long Tall Sally is a song by the American rock-n-roll singer Little Richard. Little Richard recorded the song at J&M Music Shop in New Orleans, Louisiana, recording The Girl Cant Help It and Baby Face at the same session. Richards backing band on the session consisted of Lee Allen, Alvin Red Tyler, Edgar Blanchard , Frank Fields, and Earl Palmer.
