Funky Sensation is a song released by American singer Gwen McCrae. The song was written by Kenton Nix who also wrote Heartbeat for Taana Gardner. It was produced by Nix and Henry Batts. Discos most soulful vocal group began in Philadelphia as The Volcanos, and were also called The Moods. Gene Faith was the original lead vocalist, with Earl Young, Jimmy Ellis, guitarist Dennis Harris, keyboardist Ron Kersey, organist John Hart, bassist Stanley Wade, and drummer Michael Thomas. Its Your Thing is a funk single by The Isley Brothers. Released, the funk anthem was an artistic response to Motown chief Berry Gordys demanding hold on his artists after the Isleys left the label.
