On Live At The Village Vanguard, BRUCE BARTH is featured in the classic piano trio format, revealing his artistry as a pianist, composer, arranger and bandleader. It's clear from listening to this album that the trio - with long-standing collaborators UGONNA OKEGWO on bass and AL FOSTER on drums - displays an enviable musical telepathy. The CD contains four Barth originals, plus three from the amazing Thelonious Monk and one from Harold Arlen. Cole Porter's In The Still Of The Night and Star Eyes from Don Raye and Gene DePaul round out the disc.
