Alexey Nikitin continues his prolific output under the Nocow banner with a fourth studio album Solus and second for the Hamburg operation Fauxpas Musik. Whilst previous material from the St. Petersburg based Nikitin has brought favourable comparisons with the shy and retiring Burial, the eight track Solus sees the Nocow sound expanded into the realm of vintage electronica with hints of 90s era Autechre and Aphex Twin peaking through at times. A typically moody "Intro" sets the tone as Nikitin looks to evoke emotion and capture attention through intricate levels of textural detail with tracks such as "Axylotic Tranquel" and "Havoc" standing out.
