Good old 80's Dance Floor Favs, nothing I haven't heard before I bought It for one track only, which I know you shouldn't do. The track concerned was Money's Too Tight (To Mention), one of Simply Red's very early songs recorded In Brussels and I was In The Studio to listen to It having been Invited by a friend. The song, recorded at RPM Studios, NYC and mixed at Townhouse Studio, London, pursued an energetic musical formula, while the lyrics focused more centrally on anti-gay prejudice. Allmusic described the single as minimalist "spiky synth pop" with a style reminiscent of early Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark material, and featuring a "dirty, overdriven synth sound and a stomping Gary Glitter-like backbeat".
