Monsters of Rock Broadcast The recording featured on this CD captures Metallica s performance at Monsters Of Rock at Tushino Airfield, Moscow, Russia on 21st September, where the band played a blistering set in support of their eponymous album, performing a rich selection from the new record along with classic oldies and a few covers thrown in for good measure. During its heyday, the Monsters of Rock festival was a veritable Mecca for heavy metal fans across the globe. Started as a one off event at Donington Park, the initial show was conceived to form the perfect setting for Rainbow to close their tour. However, with a line-up that also included Judas Priest, Scorpions and Saxon, the festival attracted over 35,000 fans, and Monsters of Rock soon became a regular addition to the heavy metal calendar.
