Thin Lizzy is an Irish rock band formed in Dublin by singer and bassist Phil Lynott, drummer Brian Downey, and guitarist Eric bell in 1969. The lyrical basis of the songs performed are everyday sketches, love, various stories, historical themes. The author of most of the songs was the son of a black Guyanese and an Irish woman, Lynott. Fame for "Thin Lizzy" came after they released a rock version of the Irish drinking ballad "Whiskey in the Jar" as a single, which reached the UK Top 10.
